Great to have you on our blog. Please, introduce yourself?
"Glad to be here, we are “The Rxnaways”. I go by the name of 'Bwxnda', and I go by the name of DoDi and we represent believing in yourself even if everyone else around you doesn’t!".
What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
"For me “DoDi” I felt like music brought me my freedom and when I'm involved in music it was the only time I felt free. Everything else felt forced but when I wrote music I felt like I was doing what I’m supposed to be doing in life".
"For me 'B Wxnda' it's honestly along the same line, nothing else felt right except for music, the moment I started creating nothing else would matter. It came so naturally it was crystal clear this is what I was supposed to do, and once we linked up being actual family, we knew it was meant to happen".
Tell us about your new single. And what’s the story behind it?
“Our new intro-single is called “Famous Lowlife”, it's a song about the perspective of the climb, from sleeping on the floor and the realism of struggle, the apparent juxtaposition of Famous and Lowlife runs throughout our track’s lyrical ups and downs, with varying levels of passion utilised to pierce through intermittently without getting too deep”.
What makes your music unique? How would you describe it?
"The thing about our music is that you can feel the love behind it and you can feel the authenticity behind the things that we are saying. Like what we said before, we represent believing in yourself even if no one else around you see's your future the way you see it, and see your dreams the way that you see them. Everything that you want is possible so you will hear possibility in our music".
What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
"The first thing is that you have to believe in yourself 100% and your goal 100% . Fuxx what anybody else think it’s about you and where you want your music career to go. A lot of musicians fail because of other people's fear. When people doubt you go harder, when they don’t believe in you go harder, that’s what we would tell them".
Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
"Kanye west played a huge part in the Rxnaways just by his belief in himself and how even when the world doubts him he still stayed true to himself.
And it’s a huge list of others but we don’t have enough time in the day to name them all. Off the top of our heads who we want to collab with would have to be Kanye West, Travis Scott and Lil Durk. But since we signed in the UK, Stormzy and a few others that way".
If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?
"Stay Hungry, X out the bullshit, rage and to stay true to yourself".
What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
"We just dropped a new single “Famous Lowlife”. We're working on dropping our first project with our team over at Eminence Records and we’re preparing to tour the UK soon. So we are just staying focused and staying Rxnaway!".
